The Adult Day Program can Provide:

• Meaningful social contacts
• A healthy outlook on life
• A sense of accomplishment through a variety of activities
• Support for families
• A nourishing meal with special needs
• Supervision if necessary with noon and mid-afternoon medications

Who is Eligible?

A person who:

• will benefit from social and recreational activities within the supportive environment
• requires assistance with mobility or other activities of daily living
• has caregivers who would benefit from some regularly scheduled respite

How to Apply:

Applicants will be screened by the Continuing Care Coordinator.

A home care assessment (clinical, health, and social functioning assessment) will be done to determine if admission to the Adult Day Program would be beneficial for the applicant.

How Often to Come:

The Program is available two days per week in Steinbach, Tuesdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. 2:45 p.m.

Cost:

Participants are expected to pay a user fee which is set by the Manitoba Health and will be discussed with the client prior to admission.

Billing is done at the end of each month.

Rest:

A rest area is available for those needing it throughout the day.

Activities:

The program will include exercises, games, crafts, singing songs, reading, discussion groups, and outings.

They will be assisted by our Adult Day Program staff to make it as easy as possible to participate.

How to get there:

Transportation for the Adult Day Program is arranged with the Town of Steinbach Office, Handivan Driver and Adult Day Program staff.

Pickup time is between 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.

Drop-off time is between 2:45 - 3:15 p.m.
